Silent Scream - Projection Show

This Halloween, witness Bremore Castle transform into a living nightmare of fire and shadow. Towering over the grounds, a monstrous pumpkin-headed specter rises from the stone, its fiery grin casting an eerie glow across the ancient walls. Bats swarm through crimson light as fog creeps along the path, pulling you into a world where legends come alive. Step into the darkness the Halloween Projection Show at Bremore Castle is not for the faint of heart.

From 3-31 October, Ireland's most spellbinding Halloween event, will transform the historic grounds of Newbridge House & Farm in Donabate, Dublin, into a magical Samhain wonderland. Fire & Folklore: A Samhain Journey at Ardgillan Castle

Step into the great hall and enter another world of flickering firelight and otherworldliness where nothing is as it seems, and mischief is at play. Around each dark corner who knows what lurks… Guided by a costumed host this is an interactive castle tour like none other, a journey around Samhain customs and traditions.
At each stop storytellers weave their spell with mystic words blending history and myth. The tragic tale of the ghostly Lady of the Stairs, dating back hundreds of years is rooted in Ardgillan Castle. Perhaps at this most magical time of year when the veil between the worlds thins to transparency, the lady might appear, dressed in white and staring out to sea. Everyone is encouraged to wear suitable costumers – cloaks, shawls and autumn tones.

An Immersive tour combining intrigue and mystery for adult guests on 25,26 and 27 October. The moon hangs low over Malahide Castle, and the air crackles with a mischievous energy. Step into the spirit of Samhain with a cosy celebration of harvest and hearth at TSEAC Harvest Food Fair on Sunday 5th October. Our courtyard comes alive with artisan stalls, local produce, and autumnal treats with everything from pumpkin bakes to soul-warming soups. Enjoy live music, good company, and the magic of the turning year. It’s a celebration of the harvest, the hearth, and the heart of the community.
New this year are free Kids Food Workshops run by Cool Food School supported by Fingal Food Circle and using all local ingredients. It’s a fun, educational event that every child will love.
Bring your friends, your family, your appetite - and maybe a tote bag or two for all the goodies you’ll want to take home!

Deeply rooted in Irish rural tradition the Fire Show Spectacular on 23rd. 25th and 27th October blends a variety of entertainment which may just spook the fainthearted! It's a mesmerising combined presentation including a powerful Fire Show, entertainers and special guest performance. As a backdrop the the dramatic windmills are enhanced by scarecrows of all type and manner as part of the Skerries Community Garden Scarecrow Festival. A family friendly afternoon event on Sunday 19th October. Come early to enjoy the wonderful Scarecrows from the Skerries Community Garden Scarecrow Festival. Expect puppet shows, face painting, children's arts and crafts. Then follow the stilt walkers for the ticketed Family Fire Show Spectacular event starting at 4.15pm - prepare to be amazed. Seamus Ennis Arts Centre, The Soul of Samhain

The Soul of Samhain is a month-long Samhain programme at the Seamus Ennis Arts Centre inspired by their rich storytelling heritage, folklore and mythology.
October begins with a Harvest Food Fair including Fingal Food Circle. Other events include Herbs, Hexes and Halloween plus Samhain themed singing sessions, focussing on the deep storytelling origins of the songs.
Choose from workshops connected to the archaeology and mythology of Fourknocks a megalithic monument and the folklore of Irish Whiskey. There’s an Irish language horror movie for adults, a horror movie for kids as Gaeilge, plus Samhain inspired film and craft workshops for children. Anyone want to make an owl mask? Hear author John Robb talking on the linkage between Goth culture and Halloween.

Embrace the spookiest season at a free 90-minute Freaky Flipbook Workshop on Saturday 18th October where you’ll craft animations starring your favourite Halloween monsters. Ideal for budding artists and animation fans, these hands-on workshops introduce children to the art of hand-drawn animation, bringing their monstrous visions to life. Home of Halloween at Draiocht Theatre Fingal (11am-12.30pm and 1.30-3pm). Ages 8-13
Led by the award-winning team from Speak Broccoli, known for their expertise in stop-motion and flipbook animations, this session includes live demonstrations, easy-to-follow drawing guides, and engaging hands-on activities. All materials are provided and children will leave with their very own flipbook - a perfect keepsake from a spellbinding day.

At this Halloween Monster drawing session on Tuesday 28th October, we will work together to create a gang of crazy, scary, funny, furry, four eyed, many legged, slimy, spiky monsters! Will they have big teeth, no teeth, magic powers, wings, horns, tails ... with the magic powers of your pencil we shall find out!
Dress for Mess. Unless otherwise stated workshops are designed for children from 4-9 years, though younger and older siblings are welcome to take part. Grab your bricks and your broomsticks - it’s time to get spooky and silly! Join us for a Halloween-themed LEGO printmaking workshop on 29th and 30th October where we’ll squish, stamp, and splatter our way to monstrously fun master pieces. Expect haunted brick castles, googly-eyed ghosts, and maybe even a pumpkin with pants - hey, it could happen! The spooky Lego blockprint workshop is with artist Andrew Carson. A seven-course Halloween dining extravaganza at the legendary long table in historic Whitestown House, The Naul. In flickering candlelight ancient traditions meet modern dining, rooted in the Celtic festival of Samhain, the original marking of the year’s end, a time when the veil between worlds grows thin, and the harvest’s final gifts are gathered in.
A harpist weaves the fairies’ tale serenading guests with stories and melodies over cocktails and canapés. Our tasting menu is inspired by the firelit feasts of our ancestors, showcasing seasonal Irish produce roasted, charred, and steeped in folklore.

Howth Hooks and Reels Samhain Festival

Three evenings of stories and song to celebrate Halloween in the Abbey Tavern in Howth. Samhain Mushroom Foraging with Bill O'Dea and Howth Foraging
Join Howth Foraging for a special Samhain mushroom forage in collaboration with Ireland's own Bill O'Dea. Discover the enchanting world of edible, magical, and poisonous fungi while immersing yourself in local folklore, including tales of the Puca and the spirits of Beann Eadir's dark woods. After our foraging adventure, enjoy a delicious wild mushroom pizza at the Dog House Tea Rooms, combining nature and culinary delight. Please dress for the weather, bring a small back pack and bottle of water. We will provide baskets on the day to collect mushrooms.
